How to classify
stainless steel forgings? because of the variety of stainless steel, in GB/T 20878-2007 standard there are more than 140 kinds, in real life about 200 kinds.
stainless steel forgings are different in composition, performance and use, and there are many classification methods. Let's take a look at the relevant introduction of this aspect in detail.
Common categories of
stainless steel forgings include:
(1) Classification by chemical elements:
stainless steel forgings can be basically divided into: chromium stainless steel forgings (represented by Crl3), chromium nickel
stainless steel forgings (represented by Crl8Ni8 steel), chromium nickel molybdenum stainless steel forgings, chromium nickel manganese
stainless steel forgings, high nitrogen stainless steel forgings and high molybdenum stainless steel forgings.
(2) Classification by organization:
The microstructure of
stainless steel forgings is closely related to its chemical composition and heat treatment state, according to the stainless steel forgings heated to high temperature or from high temperature cooling to room temperature when there is no phase change and room temperature when the main microstructure to be classified, there are martensitic stainless steel forgings, austenitic stainless steel forgings, ferritic stainless steel forgings and austenitic ferrite duplex stainless steel forgings.
(3) According to the content of harmful impurities:
Stainless steel forgings can be divided into ordinary stainless steel, low carbon stainless steel, ultra-low carbon stainless steel and high purity stainless steel according to the content of carbon and harmful impurity elements in steel.
(4) Classification by corrosion resistance:
Stainless steel can be divided into stress corrosion-resistant
stainless steel forgings, pitting corrosion-resistant stainless steel forgings and abrasion resistant stainless steel forgings.
(5) Classified by medium environment:
According to the use of medium and environment, stainless steel can be divided into nitric acid resistant stainless steel, sulfuric acid resistant stainless steel, urea resistant stainless steel and seawater resistant stainless steel.
(6) Classification by saving elements:
Due to the precious and rare of some elements, countries have studied and produced some steel according to the main elements of saving, such as nickel nickel stainless steel, nickel free stainless steel and chromium stainless steel, such as Cr-Mn-N and Cr-Mn-Ni-N stainless steel, as well as silicon, aluminum instead of chromium steel.
(7) Classification by characteristic components:
stainless steel forgings can be divided into high silicon stainless steel, high phase stainless steel forgings and high nitrogen stainless steel forgings.
(8) Classification according to functional characteristics:
According to the functional characteristics of stainless steel can be divided into low and ultra-low temperature stainless steel forgings, non-magnetic stainless steel forgings, high strength stainless steel forgings, super plastic stainless steel forgings, easy cutting stainless steel forgings and heat resistant stainless steel forgings.
